the secret...

Its with mixed emotions today that I announce that I have been  chosen as one of the 2012 Scrapbooking Memories Masters. Way back in August when I got the totally unexpected call from Cassie Bellemore I was in complete shock as I didnt even rate my self as a chance after the amazing year I had already had. I think I swore several times and then shakily rang my husband to scream the good news!!!!!!!!
I walked around in a daze for  a couple of days afterwards....
So you may ask why the mixed emotions.....for the last couple of weeks my best friend's daughter has been extremely sick in ICU in hospital, it has been and continues to be a very scary time for her and her family and friends, one of my projects for the application for Masters was about Kate who is in hospital, she plays a very important part in my children's and my life .
So I would like to dedicate my Masters win and opportunity to Kate who continually inspires me and everyone who knows her with her strength,  courage and fighting spirit, she truly is here for a purpose to teach and inspire others....

I got sent lots of goodies including an i rock tool and the fabulous Bon Voyage collection of pattern papers and embellishments. I decided to use my goodies to create a Travel set for my sister who is holidaying overseas in  late December.

the snowman...

Who knew building a  snowman would be so hard!!!! Coming from two inexperienced Aussies this little guy was the best we could manage when we visited beautiful Lake Louiise in Canada for our honeymoon 6 years ago.
I have combined some Indie bloom and Nordic holiday papers and accessories from Basic Grey to complete my layout!

You still have one more day to be in the chance to win a spot in my friend Gails online class here.

lego love...

I have mentioned before about my eldest son's love for lego, my youngest is totally into daddy's old lego as well. I have used Get Picky's new sketch to complete my layout. I was inspired by the cluster of circles to cluster my photos.

I also based the colours on this months colour challenge at Core'dinations. I have used some yummy Tilly dot cardstock.

Don't you love that awesome definition button from my friend Gail's etsy shop here.

Oh and before I go Core'dinations are having an awesome give away of the new Tim Holtz kraft Core cardstock, if you head on over here you may even win a signed packet of the kraft core from the man himself!

first love...

I have mentioned before about the sweet friendship between my eldest and his best friend Kate. They simply adore each other, he is so soft and tender towards her and misses her so much when he doesn't see her for a while.
I took advantage of the gorgeous Picadilly line from Basic Grey that is just hitting the stores now to create my layout. The colours and patterns are soft and feminine but not too much that you can't include them on a boys page
For my layout I used the 6x6 pack of pattern papers to  create my quilt like background...

he....

All this week there have been some fabulous Graphic 45 and Core'dinations projects on the Core'dinations blog. Today it was my turn to share a project. Now I really struggle with Graphic 45 papers, they are not my usual choice but I managed this fun layout about my eldest who has really LOVED his time at kindy this year!
I did a little sanding and distressing of the signature series Graphic 45 Core cardstock!

Oh and if you head on over to the Core'dinations blog there is a fab Graphic 45 Core give away going on.
Till next time!
