Jot mood board

There is a lovely new Mood board  over at Jot Magazine. I love the pops of pink, mint and yellow!

I used the lovely Crate Paper Oasis collection and a cut file I found in at the Silhouette store to complete my layout.

I hope you get a chance to play along!

Heidi Swapp Make it Happen personal planner

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you a little behind the scenes look at how I am using the new  Heidi Swapp "Make It Happen" Personal Planner to organize my Scrapbook Design Team commitments. I chose this planner basically, because the cover was just the most delicious and feminine cover from all of Heidi's new planners. I love the soft pink mixed with the yellow and hot pink! I wanted to use and see it everyday!

Each month as my design team commitments get sent to me I add them into the weekly planner pages.

Now even though this is a working planner I still plan (wink) to add  touches of decorative embellishments to my pages using the new Memory Planner collection.

I used the clear stamps and black ink to add touches of motivation to my pages. I also added in the 3x3 card and one of the Kraft Notepad tags in which I added a stamp for some extra personal touches.

Each week I will move  the Clear divider to that current week to help me find my place quickly and easily.

I have added a couple of important reminders to the opposite page. I used some yellow ink and the small wooden"tick" stamp from the Wooden Icons set to help me bullet point each reminder.

On this weekly page I added in some pink ink and another of the Clear stamp quotes! " This calls for Chocolate" is the perfect choice to document times when it is busy! Also do you spot the cute square stamp from the wooden icon sets? Perfect to use a place to mark off completed assignments.

I added a touch a torn washi tape to signify the end of the month's assignments. I think I will do this each month as a  way to notifying myself.

Let me share with you the different pages that make up the "Make It Happen" planner.

Each Month starts with a monthly divider page that is so fun and brightly colored, This  is why I think I was so drawn to this planner in the first place.

Turning the page there is a quote on the back of the month divider page and a monthly focus page.

Finally, each month contains 5 double page spreads with a weekly calendar on one side and weekly to do prompts on the other to add an some extra reminders for you.

I just love the way this planner serves two roles - one it serves it's purpose as a planner and the other it looks just so pretty is serves as piece of pretty decor in my studio.

Magnolia Jane layout

Heidi Swapp  has just released the most beautiful feminine collection called Magnolia Jane and I couldn't wait to create a layout with it. When I was looking through my photos from the recent Creativation trade show in Pheonix this one photo stood out to me as a favorite and I couldn't wait to use it on a layout. It was the first time in 4 years that all of us on the Media Team were together and it was such a celebration.

I love that the collection combines that beautiful dark floral pattern paper and  then  teams  with bold geometric patterns for a unique combination of pattern papers. I wanted to make a feature of the floral pattern paper so I decided to frame part of the floral  print with a white circular frame cut from Bazzill Basics White cardstock.

The flowers on this pattern paper are so striking!  They  make a bold  statement against the dark background that I wanted that to be the main element on my page.  To make my frame I used my fiskars circle cutter and cut a large circle from my white cardstock. It was that easy!

I then grabbed a piece of the Dashing pattern paper with the black markings to serve as the first layer on my layout. I then trimmed about an inch from two sides of  the Blush pattern paper and laid it over the Dashing paper. Finally I stitched my white frame on the top and my base was complete.

I created a place for some hidden journaling under my photo by only adhering three sides of the photo down and the tag is able to slide in and out.

The Blush tag is apart of the Ephemera pack and I used my We R Memory Keepers Typeface typewriter to add my journaling. To complete my tag I added some stamping with some of the Magnolia Jane clear stamps.

To embellish my layout I kept it fairly simple because I wanted that floral paper to be the feature. I used some of the Clear and  kraft and Gold dipped pieces from the Ephemera pack to embellish then added some of the Gold washi  to hold down my photo and Clear Gold Foil words as my title. To complete my layout I ended with some splashes of Black Colorshine!

Magnolia Jane is just the most delicious collection. It is perfect for your most feminine layouts I hope you can find some of the pieces soon. Look out for it at select JoAnn stores now.

Sweet layout- Felicity Jane

Today I am sharing another layout using the scrummy London kit from Felicity Jane. I am just so in love with the soft pastel pinks, greens and greys in the kit that I wanted to make a feature of it on my layout. I used the beautiful grey dot pattern paper as the base of my layout and added strips from the pink heart and pink stripes along the top and bottom.
Happy Layout by KimJeffress | @FelicityJane
I created a cluster of pattern paper and photos in the centre of my layout using the 3x4 cut apart sheet to form my grid. You will note the bottom left block is larger than 3x4, I wanted it to be the same size as the photo above it so i just trimmed it wider than the 3x4 size.

To add a title to my layout I added some of the white chipboard letters from the kit overlapping the cluster to create a sense of cohesiveness.

I finished off by layering the chipboard shapes, die cuts and epoxy letters in and around the cluster.
